TREES
In botany, a tree is a perennial plant with an elongated stem or trunk that supports branches and leaves. Our nursery offers a diverse selection of over 100 tree varieties, including both evergreen and deciduous types, as well as unique options like banana trees and bamboo.
While most of our offerings are within the 5-meter height range, ideal for gardens, we can also source larger trees or varieties that are currently out of stock.
When choosing a tree, it's essential to consider not only its aesthetic appeal, such as leaf color or flower type, but also its growth rate and environmental needs.

Shrubs
Shrubs are small to medium-sized woody plants that can be either evergreen or deciduous. At Furuya Plants, our shrubs typically reach a height of 2 meters or less. Often used as ornamental plants, shrubs with showy flowers like hydrangeas can become focal points in a garden. They are also valuable for creating privacy hedges or acting as barriers against wildlife or intruders. Some shrubs have compact forms and foliage, while others have long, arching branches.

Palms & Cactii
These plants are exceptionally well-suited to hot, dry conditions, with some varieties thriving even in arid environments. While Japan has a rainy season, these plants have adapted well to its typically hot and humid summers and quite dry winters (though they aren't typical desert plants). They are ideal for locations with limited rainfall, such as under eaves or in well-draining soil like gravel, and can also tolerate the reflected heat common in urban environments. Despite their love for dryness, they can handle some rain and humidity.

Ground Covers
Groundcovers are low-growing, dense plants, typically ranging from 5 to 20 centimeters in height. These versatile plants include grasses, vines, perennials, and succulents, and offer numerous benefits for gardens. They help prevent erosion, suppress weeds, and improve soil stability, while also creating a visually appealing ground cover. Groundcovers can be used to fill in difficult-to-plant areas and enhance the overall aesthetic of a garden.
